Whoo! We have a venue!
Whoo! My bridesmaids said “YES!”
Now it was time to work on the save the dates. I wanted to get these out as early as possible because we are getting married on Labor Day Weekend. Initially, I wanted them in the mail as soon as we had picked a venue and secured our date. But that idea got changed a little.
We didn’t sign our contract until right before Thanksgiving, and then there was the whole Thanksgiving-ness and all of a sudden we’re just a couple weeks ahead of Christmas. I didn’t want them to get lost in the Christmas card shuffle, so we decided that just after the first of the year would be fine.
For quite some time, I had a save the date idea that I wanted to use and L seemed to like it. I’ll go over that in another post, but I had lots of other inspiration. What I was looking for was something that had a picture of us. I just love that. I don’t know why, I just really love when the couple’s photo is included. Then, I also wanted it to be simple. Nothing too crazy, just give the necessary information. Plus, we would have our website URL included where guests could go for more information if they didn’t want to wait for the invitation to come out.
Here are some of the ones I found and loved:

I love the photostrip and the little trinket key. Actually, I love all save the dates that include a picture somehow.

Picture? Check. Simple, but pretty? Check.

I love the silhouettes. Something a little different, but oh so sweet.

Again, includes a photo, but it’s oh so simple. Love.
Wedding Paper Divas

Um, yes. Pink + Green = Automatically LOVE LOVE LOVE

Again, the photostrips. And I love that they included the words ‘save the date’ in each picture.
Or you can go the untraditional route. I guess this is a little more of an invitation rather than save the date. Not exactly my favorite pick, but it could be great.
*As usual, if any of these images are yours, I am happy to give credit or remove at request.
